I really want to be friends with Zooey Deschanel. I know this seems unrealistic to a few, but one can hope. Not only am I loving this season of New Girl, I love Zooey's website www.hellogiggles.com. If you spend some time on the site, you will want to be friends with her too! Not only does she have her own section on nail art, she has favorite products and even sewing lessons!
Zooey D.
Tonight's episode of New Girl is called "Bachelorette Party" and of course, it's right up my alley. Zooey's character, Jess, dresses up for the party in Kate Spade's Normandy Dress that was out this winter. I also saw this dress on Quinn on Glee a few episodes back. I went on Piperlime to see if it was available and it was sold out. Sadly, my heart sunk and I moved on from my Zooey Deschanel friend obsession.

Alas, while walking through the Kate Spade outlet this past weekend, the heavens aligned! There was the adorable dress on the hanger. Although it was way out of my budget, I HAD to try it on! I felt like Zooey for a quick second and that was satisfying enough! It's a beautiful silk material and wonderfully made, probably worth the $450 price tag. A girl can dream.....
I've been away from the beauty blog in 2013 and am so glad to be back! A new beauty find has me excited to spread the joy to all my fellow product lovers. I found Vaseline Spray n' Go at Target about a month ago and it has changed my morning routine for the better. The commercial is pretty awesome and mimics what my mornings are like when the snooze button has become a part of the equation. Keep in mind, it's not spray tan, just your daily moisturizer that is great all day moisture and just in time for skirt weather!
Overall, I just straight up love this! I love that I can spray this on quickly after a shower and be done in seconds. Which is great, because I can very easily (and quite often do) talk myself out of moisturizing due to time constraints. Well, not real time constraints... more like me just not wanting to bother, even though I should. Anyway, this is love. Product love!
My friends keep texting me pictures of their awesome hair trends and sadly, I can't take part because of my membership in the "bob for life" club. I can look from afar though:) First up, my friend Lauren surprised me with her latest Pinterest discovery, the hair bow. Looks pretty awesome and so perfect for the holidays:
My newest magnetic nail polish acquisition is Sinful Colors in "It's Electric". I haven't really been feeling the magnetic nail polish trend but saw this for only 4.99 and thought it was worth the chance. First off, the magnet is practically glued into the top, and I quite
literally nearly lost a nail trying to pull it off from the bottle cap. I
put on a thin layer and then placed the magnet above my thumbnail
immediately. The polish was decently opaque in one coat, except...
nothing happened. I did one more thin coat (nice thing about magnetic
polishes) and tried again. The magnet finally started working but it wasn't super even like in the pictures. Nevertheless, I'm intrigued and practice makes perfect, right?
I'm watching CNN with my cat while eating Halloween candy ...so basically I'm 80 and 5 at the same time. With that self revelation, I realize that I have no justification for the things that I'm into these days. What's on my radar this month: The clerk at Sports Basement was ringing me up and sporting this super
adorable Cupcake Beanie. I didn't know if it was crazy hat day at SB or
maybe just getting in the mood for Halloween, but her awesome hat style
made my day and I'm considering the small investment!
Taylor Swift's new CD came out yesterday and is it weird that I was so excited? She
also has cute Keds at Nordies that would be perfect to sport the Nantucket
Kennedy style that I'm always into.
Lastly, I was super excited to find PJ Salvage's cupcake robe at Nordstrom Rack a few months ago. I was even more excited to see that Rachel was wearing it on Glee in the season premiere last month! Quite the cosmic connection if I do say so:)
There's nothing better than a well made latte and the perfect lipstick hue. Pure heaven. I've always been torn between my two loves-teaching and makeup! This blog has allowed me to share my passion for products and keep my day job;) Inspired by Eleanor Roosevelt and Audrey Hepburn, "Happy girls are the prettiest girls" is a quote that does ring true. But having loads of makeup sure helps!
